* t3901: Use ISO8859-1 instead of ISO-8859-1 for backward compatibilityBrandon Casey2009-05-18
| | | | | | | | | | Some ancient platforms do not have an extensive list of alternate names for character encodings. For example, Solaris 7 does not know that ISO-8859-1 is the same as ISO8859-1. Modern platforms do know this, so use the older name. Signed-off-by: Brandon Casey <casey@nrlssc.navy.mil> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
* t3901: avoid negation on right hand side of '|'Brandon Casey2009-05-18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Some shells do not properly handle constructs of the form: spew_something | ! process_input So rewrite this to be: spew_something | process_input; test $? != 0 Signed-off-by: Brandon Casey <casey@nrlssc.navy.mil> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>

* | tests: use $TEST_DIRECTORY to refer to the t/ directoryJunio C Hamano2008-08-17
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many test scripts assumed that they will start in a 'trash' subdirectory that is a single level down from the t/ directory, and referred to their test vector files by asking for files like "../t9999/expect". This will break if we move the 'trash' subdirectory elsewhere. To solve this, we earlier introduced "$TEST_DIRECTORY" so that they can refer to t/ directory reliably. This finally makes all the tests use it to refer to the outside environment. With this patch, and a one-liner not included here (because it would contradict with what Dscho really wants to do): | diff --git a/t/test-lib.sh b/t/test-lib.sh | index 70ea7e0..60e69e4 100644 | --- a/t/test-lib.sh | +++ b/t/test-lib.sh | @@ -485,7 +485,7 @@ fi | . ../GIT-BUILD-OPTIONS | | # Test repository | -test="trash directory" | +test="trash directory/another level/yet another" | rm -fr "$test" || { | trap - exit | echo >&5 "FATAL: Cannot prepare test area" all the tests still pass, but we would want extra sets of eyeballs on this type of change to really make sure. * Remove unecessary hard-coding of EDITOR=':' VISUAL=':' in some test suites.Kristian Høgsberg2007-11-02
| | | | | | | | They are already set and exoprted by sourcing ./test-lib.sh in all test scripts. Signed-off-by: Kristian Høgsberg <krh@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <gitster@pobox.com>
* Rewrite "git-frotz" to "git frotz"Junio C Hamano2007-07-02

* Use =20 when rfc2047 encoding spaces.Kristian Høgsberg2007-06-02
| | | | | | | | | | | Encode ' ' using '=20' even though rfc2047 allows using '_' for readability. Unfortunately, many programs do not understand this and just leave the underscore in place. Using '=20' seems to work better. [jc: with adjustment to t3901] Signed-off-by: Kristian Høgsberg <hoegsberg@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>

* More tests in t3901.Junio C Hamano2007-01-13
| | | | | | | | This adds tests for "cherry-pick" and "rebase --merge" (and indirectly "commit -C" since it is used in the latter) to make sure they create a new commit with correct encoding. Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
* t3901: test "format-patch | am" pipe with i18nJunio C Hamano2007-01-13
This checks combinations of i18n.commitencoding (declares what encoding you are feeding commit-tree to make commits) and i18n.logoutputencoding (instructs what encoding to emit the commit message out to log output, including e-mail format) to make sure the "format-patch | am" pipe used in git-rebase works correctly. I suspect "git cherry-pick" and "git rebase --merge" may fail similar tests. We'll see. Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
