* clone tests: rename t57* => t56*Stefan Beller2016-03-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When trying to find a good spot for testing clone with submodules, I got confused where to add a new test file. There are both tests in t560* as well as t57* both testing the clone command. t/README claims the second digit is to indicate the command, which is inconsistent to the current naming structure. Rename all t57* tests to be in t56* to follow the pattern of the digits as laid out in t/README. It would have been less work to rename t56* => t57* because there are less files, but the tests in t56* look more basic and I assumed the higher the last digits the more complicated niche details are tested, so with the patch now it looks more in order to me. * t: fix moderate &&-chain breakageJeff King2015-03-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These are tests which are missing a link in their &&-chain, but in a way that probably does not effect the outcome of the test. Most of these are of the form: some_cmd >actual test_cmp expect actual The main point of the test is to verify the output, and a failure in some_cmd would probably be noticed by bogus output. But it is good for the tests to also confirm that "some_cmd" does not die unexpectedly after producing its output. * clone --single: limit the fetch refspec to fetched branchRalf Thielow2012-09-20
After running "git clone --single", the resulting repository has the usual default "+refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*" wildcard fetch refspec installed, which means that a subsequent "git fetch" will end up grabbing all the other branches. Update the fetch refspec to cover only the singly cloned ref instead to correct this. That means: If "--single" is used without "--branch" or "--mirror", the fetch refspec covers the branch on which remote's HEAD points to. If "--single" is used with "--branch", it'll cover only the branch specified in the "--branch" option. If "--single" is combined with "--mirror", then it'll cover all refs of the cloned repository. If "--single" is used with "--branch" that specifies a tag, then it'll cover only the ref for this tag.
